Removal and installation the coolant temperature sensor
Caution: When the engine is hot, there is a risk of burns. Before removing the coolant temperature sensor, turn off the engine and wait until it cools down.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the decorative engine cover.
3. Drain the coolant from the engine.
4. Disconnect evaporator hose No.1 from the catch chamber and set it aside.

5. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the air hose and set it aside.

6. Remove the clamp and loosen the wire harness.

7. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
8. Using a special tool, remove the coolant temperature sensor.

Note:: replace the part with a new one after each removal.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
10. Fill the engine with coolant.
Checking the engine coolant temperature sensor
Resistance check
Caution: When the engine is hot, there is a risk of burns. Before removing the coolant temperature sensor, turn off the engine and wait until it cools down.
1. Remove the coolant temperature sensor.
2. Place the coolant temperature sensor and thermometer in the water and gradually heat it.

3. Measure the resistance between terminals A and B of the coolant temperature sensor. If the measured value is not within the normal range, replace the coolant temperature sensor.
