The preload of the hub bearings is adjusted by selecting and installing a deformable spacer sleeve of the required length. Adjusting sleeves are supplied as spare parts in lengths from 0.205 to 7.085 mm with an interval of every 0.04 mm.

Press the roller bearings with the previously used spacer sleeve into the removed hub and install the 49 B 001 727 device for selecting the length of the spacer sleeves (device for "false" assembly) onto the hub.

Tighten the fixture nut with a force of 20 kgf·m and measure the torque of resistance to rotation with a dynamometer (preload) hub bearings, which should be within 0.25-1.18 Nm.

If the measured value does not fit within these limits, install another spacer sleeve, based on the fact that the sleeve closest in length changes the moment of resistance to rotation of the hub (bearing preload) by 0.2-0.4 N·m.
