The preload of the hub bearings is regulated by the selection and installation of a deformable spacer sleeve of the required length. In spare parts, adjusting sleeves are supplied in lengths from 0.205 to 7.085 mm with an interval of every 0.04 mm.
Press the roller bearings with the previously used spacer sleeve into the removed hub and install tool 49 B 001 727 on the hub to select the length of the spacer sleeves (fixture for «false» assembly).
Tighten the tool nut with a force of 20 kgf·m and measure the moment of resistance to rotation with a dynamometer (preload) wheel bearings, which should be in the range of 0.25-1.18 Nm.
If the measured value is not within these limits, install another spacer, based on the fact that the nearest bush in length changes the torque of the hub rotation (bearing preload) by 0.2-0.4 Nm.
