Cars with electronic injection system or automatic transmission



In this case, your engine cannot be started by pushing or towing the vehicle. Use a booster battery or another vehicle's battery and booster cables.

Cars with manual transmission



To start the car - provided the battery is not discharged - you must perform the following steps to prepare the car. To avoid damage, check that the bumpers of both cars are at the same height, protect the bumpers with blankets or other pads.

1. Turn off all unnecessary electrical appliances.

2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON (II)" position.

3. Before pushing, depress the clutch and engage third gear.

4. When the car accelerates to a speed of about 15 km/h, slowly engage the clutch and press the gas pedal halfway until the engine starts.

Warning! Never tow the vehicle as the sudden forward jerk when starting the engine could damage both vehicles.


Note: A battery that is too weak can be identified by the following signs: (on diesel vehicles):


Note: Glow plug failure (at outside temperature below 20°C).


Note: The fuel shut-off valve remains open. In both cases, the engine cannot be started.
