General description of the carburetor (Mazda Familia BG)

Each carburetor is tested and adjusted at the factory. Nothing can be changed in this adjustment. High fuel consumption and insufficient engine power almost always have other causes, among which the driving style and conditions play an important role. As a rule, it is enough to limit yourself to careful adjustment of the idle speed and CO composition. Correct adjustment of the idle speed is much more important than is commonly thought, since it affects the engine operation up to medium speeds.

Note. Carburetor screws, with which the composition of exhaust gases can be changed, must be protected by seals by law. If the carburetor has seals, they can be removed with pliers or a screwdriver. It is advisable to screw a suitable screw into the seal and remove it together with the seal. In this case, they are destroyed. After adjustment, the screws must be protected with new seals.
