  • Cylinder Block — Description
0
The technological feature of the new cylinder block is that it is cast from an aluminum alloy with cast-iron cylinder liners installed inside the housing. This improves heat dissipation and reduces its weight. The cylinder liners are thin-walled, so boring is not possible. In addition, as already mentioned, the cylinder block is equipped with a long piston skirt and an integrated main bearing cap. The water jacket of the cylinder block is of a closed type, which increases rigidity and helps reduce vibration and noise. The oil separator cover of the cylinder block is located on the opposite side of the air intake. The crankcase ventilation valve and oil separator with an adapter for installing the ventilation valve improve the efficiency of crankcase ventilation of gases.

The new cylinder block does not use main bearing mounting keys. The cylinder head mounting bolts have a tightening torque in the plastic zone, tightening is carried out in five steps. This ensures the stability of the bolt axis during tightening (Fig. 2.6).

The technological hole for installing a special device used to detect the TDC position of the first cylinder is located on the right side of the cylinder block. The TDC position is determined by touching the edge of the special device to the balancer of the first cylinder (Fig. 2.7).
