The cylinder block is cast from cast iron and is one piece with the cylinders.

Cylinder block height, mm: 205.

Non-flatness of the block joint surface, no more than, mm: 0.15. Reduction in block height during grinding, no more than, mm: 0.20. Cylinder diameter, mm: nominal:
  • E1: 70,000-70,019;
  • E3 and E5: 77,000-77,019.

Ovality and taper of cylinder mirrors, not more than, mm: 0.15. Repair boring of cylinders is performed for special repair pistons and rings, having an increase against the nominal size for the E1 engine by 0.25; 0,50; 0,75; 1.0 mm; for E3 and E5 engines by 0.25 and 0.50 mm.
