To ensure reliability and long battery life, follow these instructions: (fig. 1.188).
Before servicing the battery, remove the cover.
The battery must be securely fastened to the vehicle.
Make sure the top of the battery is clean and dry.
Keep the battery contacts and cable terminals clean. The terminals should be securely tightened and coated with protective grease.
Immediately wash off any electrolyte that has spilled on the battery. Use a water and baking soda solution for this.
If the vehicle will not be used for an extended period of time, disconnect the wire terminals from the battery terminals.
