2. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
3. Turn off the engine and wait at least 5 minutes for the oil to drain into the pan.

4. Remove the dipstick, wipe it dry and reinsert the dipstick until it stops (fig. 1.179).
5. Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level on the dipstick. The normal engine oil level is between the maximum and minimum level marks. If the oil level is near the lower minimum level mark or has dropped below it, you need to add oil and bring its level up to the maximum level mark.
6. Before inserting the oil dipstick into the engine, check that the O-ring on the dipstick is in place.
A change in the oil level between the marks on the dipstick corresponds to the addition or consumption of the next volume of oil.
