The volume of the working fluid changes depending on the temperature. The level of the working fluid should be checked with the engine idling and at normal working temperature of the working fluid.
Caution! Insufficient working fluid level causes slippage of friction elements of automatic transmission. Too high a working fluid level can cause intense foaming, loss of working fluid and disruption of normal operation of automatic transmission.
Caution! Use only the recommended working fluid. Using any non-recommended working fluid may result in malfunction and failure of the automatic transmission.
1. Place the vehicle on a level, horizontal surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Start the engine and press the brake pedal.

3. Move the range selector lever through all positions one by one, and then set it to the "P" (park) position.

4. With the engine idling, remove the automatic transmission dipstick and wipe it dry. Then reinsert the dipstick. Remove the dipstick again. The normal fluid level is between the marks on the dipstick, (fig. 1.182).
