1. Place the vehicle on a level surface.

2. Warm up the engine to operating temperature.

3. Stop the engine and wait at least five minutes before continuing.

4. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean and reinsert it until it stops.

5. Remove the dipstick:

Petrol engine:

Make sure the oil level is between the F and L marks on the dipstick.

If the oil level is below the L mark, add oil to the engine.

If the oil level is above the F mark, fuel may enter the engine oil. Change the engine oil in the engine.

Diesel engine:

Make sure the oil level is between the X and L marks on the dipstick.

If the oil level is below or at the L mark, add oil to the engine.

If the oil level approaches or exceeds the X mark, replace the engine oil with new oil.

6. Insert the dipstick completely until it contacts the cylinder head cover.
