Close all openings to prevent moisture and foreign objects from entering.
When the compressor is removed, store it in the position in which it is installed on the vehicle.
When replacing or repairing the compressor, strictly follow the procedures specified in the section "Maintaining the required amount of oil in the compressor".
Keep the friction surfaces between the clutch and pulley clean. If the surfaces are contaminated with oil, clean them with a clean rag slightly moistened with solvent.
After completing compressor maintenance, rotate the compressor shaft by hand at least five turns in each direction. This will ensure even distribution of oil inside the compressor. After installing the compressor, start the engine and let it idle for one hour.
After replacing the compressor electromagnetic clutch, apply voltage to the new clutch and check its operation.
