Caution: Do not spray water in the engine compartment. Water splashing on electrical components such as the audio system head unit and electrical switches is dangerous and may cause malfunction or fire.
Warnings for caring for the instrument panel
Avoid contact with corrosive liquids such as perfumed or cosmetic oils on the instrument panel. They will damage and discolor the instrument panel. If such substances come into contact with the instrument panel, wipe them off immediately.
Caution: Do not use gloss compounds. Such products contain ingredients that will cause discoloration, wrinkling, cracking, or peeling of the instrument panel trim material.
Car interior care
Vinyl flooring
Remove dust and dirt from vinyl flooring with a broom or vacuum cleaner. Use special cleaners designed for leather and vinyl to clean vinyl flooring.
Leather upholstery (some performances)
First remove dirt particles and sand using a vacuum cleaner or other equipment. Then wipe the surface clean using a soft cloth with leather cleaner or a soft cloth dampened with a mild soap solution.
Remove any remaining cleaner or soap with a cloth soaked in clean water and then wrung out thoroughly.
Remove moisture with a dry soft cloth and leave to dry completely in a well-ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight.
If the leather upholstery accidentally gets wet during normal vehicle operation (for example, as a result of rain), then in this case you should also immediately remove excess moisture and dry the upholstery.
Note:
- Genuine leather is not uniform in its structure. Therefore, it may have scars, scratches or wrinkles of natural origin.
- To maintain the aesthetic properties of genuine leather upholstery for a long time, it is recommended to periodically (approximately twice a year) taking care of her.
- Sand and dirt that gets on the surface of the seats can damage the top layer of leather and significantly accelerate the wear process.
- Grease stains on the surface of genuine leather can cause mold growth and stains.
- When using stiff brushes or rough cloths for cleaning, be especially careful: applying excessive force may damage the coating.
- Do not use alcohol, chlorine bleach or organic solutions to clean genuine leather (solvents, benzene, gasoline). Otherwise, discoloration or staining may occur.
- If the seats get wet, quickly remove excess moisture with a dry cloth. If you don't do this, the absorbed moisture may cause various defects, such as hardening and wrinkling.
- Avoid leaving your car in direct sunlight for extended periods of time. This can damage the genuine leather upholstery. If your car must be parked in direct sunlight for extended periods of time, protect the interior with sunscreens.
- Do not leave any items made of vinyl plastic on the seats for a long time. This may damage the leather upholstery. If the temperature in the car increases, the vinyl may begin to decompose, which will lead to it sticking to the leather upholstery.
Fabric upholstery
Remove dust and dirt from fabric upholstery with a broom or vacuum cleaner. To clean fabric upholstery, use a solution of mild neutral soap, which is intended for fabrics and woven rugs. Remove stains from fabric upholstery immediately while they are fresh. To do this, use special stain removers intended for fabric treatment.
Maintain your fabric upholstery to keep it clean and looking fresh and new. If not properly maintained, the upholstery will lose its original color and become stained. In addition, the fabric upholstery's fire resistance may be reduced.
Caution: Use only recommended cleaning products and treatment methods for fabric upholstery care. Inappropriate cleaning products or improper cleaning techniques may damage the appearance and reduce the fire resistance of the fabric upholstery.
Black polished plastic panels and inserts (some performances)
The side trim of the instrument panel uses glossy panels and inserts with a special coating that protects against scratches. Use a soft cloth to clean the surface of these panels from dirt.
Note: Scratches and other surface defects caused by using coarse brushes or cloths may be difficult to remove.
Caring for seat belt straps
To clean the seat belt webbing, use a mild neutral soap solution that is designed for fabrics and woven mats. Follow all instructions for cleaning the seat belts. Do not treat the seat belt webbing with bleaching or dyeing agents. This may reduce the strength of the belt webbing.
After cleaning the seat belts, dry the straps thoroughly. Before winding the belt into the inertia reel, check that the strap is completely dry.
Warning: Have a faulty seat belt replaced immediately by an authorized Mazda dealer. It is dangerous to use seat belts with damaged webbing. In the event of an accident, such a seat belt will not be able to provide effective protection.
Care of the inner surface of glass
If the inner surface of the panes is covered with a greasy or waxy film, wipe the panes with a glass cleaner. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the cleaner container.
Attention.
- Do not scrape or scratch the inside surface of the rear window as this may scratch the electrical wire of the windshield defroster or antenna.
- To clean the inside of the rear window, use a soft cloth dampened with warm water. Carefully wipe the rear window defroster mesh and antenna wire.
- Using glass cleaners may damage the rear window defroster mesh and antenna.
