Removal
1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
Warning! This will erase the engine fault memory or the radio security code. Before disconnecting the battery, read the instructions in Section Removal and installation the battery.
2. Remove the lower trim of the tailgate.
3. Remove the windshield wiper arm.
4. Remove the sealing cap, unscrew and remove the outer sleeve.
5. Disconnect the multi-pin plug from the motor.
6. Unscrew the engine from the body; to do this, unscrew 4 bolts.
Installation
1. When installing a new wiper motor, it must first be brought to the end position. To do this, connect the plug and let the motor run for about 1 minute. Then turn off the motor with the switch and let it settle to the end position. Disconnect the plug.
2. Screw the motor to the tailgate with force 10 Nm.
3. Install the outer sleeve, tighten the nut with force 5 Nm.
4. Put on the sealing cap.
5. Install the windshield wiper arm.
6. Connect the plug to the motor.
7. Connect the ground cable to the battery.
8. Check the operation of the windshield wiper.
9. If available, set the time on the clock and set the security code for the radio receiver.
10. Install the lower trim of the tailgate.
