Note: The engine of a vehicle with an automatic transmission cannot be started by pushing or towing the vehicle.
1. Turn on the ignition to unlock the steering wheel and to turn on the direction indicators, horn and, if necessary, windscreen wipers.
2. Since the brake booster only functions when the engine is running, more force must be applied to the brake pedal.
3. Gear selector lever in position "N".
4. On vehicles with all-wheel drive, the differential lock should not be engaged.
Attention! Maximum towing speed: 50 km/h!
Attention! Maximum towing distance: 80 km!
5. For towing over longer distances, the front of the vehicle must be raised, otherwise damage to the gearbox will occur due to insufficient lubrication.
Using a towing vehicle
Warning! Vehicles may only be towed on the rear wheels. Reason: With the rear end raised, the front wheels rotating in the opposite direction would cause the planetary gears of the automatic transmission to rotate at an extremely high speed, which would cause serious damage to the automatic transmission.

On all-wheel drive vehicles, the rear wheels must also be unloaded, otherwise the intermediate differential will be overloaded. It is best to load the vehicle or use a dolly.
