For 3- and 4-speed automatic transmission

Any movement must be carried out only with the automatic transmission shift lever in position "D".

Press the button on the shift lever handle to move the lever to the «R» and «P» positions and to…
Press the button on the shift lever handle to move the lever to the "R" and "P" positions and to move from "D" to "2" and from "2" to "1".
The handle can be moved to other positions without pressing the button.

Note: To avoid sudden changes in speed, press the brake pedal to move the lever to the "Neutral" ("N") or "Park" ("P") position when moving forward or backward.

Attention:
  • Do not move the lever to the "R" or "P" position until the vehicle has come to a complete stop.
  • If you stop on a slope, do not use the engine to hold the vehicle. Use the service brake.
  • Do not switch from "N" or "P" to "1", "2", "D" or "R" if the engine is running at high speed.

Starting the engine

Use position "P" or "N" otherwise the starter will not engage.

P (Parking) Use only during long stops.

Caution! Do not use the P (Park) position instead of the parking brake. Make sure the gearshift lever is in the P (Park) position and locked. Then apply the parking brake firmly. Turn off the engine if you leave the car, even for a short time. If this precaution is not observed, the car may unexpectedly "break away" from the spot.

R (Reverse) To make a car move backwards after stopping.

N (Neutral position) When the car stops (brake lock).

D (Movement) This position is used for normal control when speed changes occur to select a more economical driving mode.

Overspeed switch

(For automatic transmission with 4 gears)

For normal operation, we recommend setting the switch to the "OK" position. We recommend using the switch for greater fuel economy and smoother operation. To turn it on, place the automatic transmission shift lever in the "D" position and press the switch. The transmission will shift through each of the four gears in turn. To interrupt this process, press the switch again. If the switch is in the "OFF" position, it does not function.

For normal operation, we recommend setting the switch to the «OK» position. We recommend using the…

However, in the following cases, it is recommended to set the switch to the "OFF" position:

  • If engine braking occurs during a long descent.
  • If the transmission repeatedly shifts from 3rd to higher gear when climbing, driving on a slippery surface or when driving in stop-and-go traffic.

Overdrive Off (O/D OFF) Indicator Lamp

This indicator lamp comes on when the switch is in the "OFF" position.

This indicator lamp comes on when the switch is in the «OFF» position.

2 (2°)

Use this gear when driving slowly and over short distances, on long downhill grades with engine braking, when driving on slippery surfaces, or in other situations where slight acceleration is required. Do not exceed 115 km/h in position "2". For models 1.8-109 km/h).

1 (First)

This gear is designed for climbing or descending steep slopes. Do not exceed 60 km/h in position "1".

Shifting to a lower gear

(Only in position "D")

You can get power and sudden acceleration to climb a steep slope. To do this, press the gas pedal all the way down to shift from a higher to a lower gear.
