Check that the vehicle body remains approximately horizontal when coupled with a loaded or empty trailer. Do not operate the road train if the vehicle body is tilted significantly forward or backward. Check the vertical load on the towing hitch and the serviceability of the suspension components. Make sure that the trailer is not overloaded.

Check that the loads are securely fastened in the trailer to prevent them from shifting.

Make sure that the rear view mirrors comply with all requirements of the current regulations. Check the serviceability and installation of the rear view mirrors.

Before starting your journey, check that all external lighting and light signaling devices installed on the vehicle and trailer are working properly. Check the towing hitch, safety chains, electrical connectors and other connections between the vehicle and trailer. After driving a short distance, stop and check again that all external lighting and light signaling devices are working properly, as well as all connecting units between the vehicle and trailer.

Remember that the maneuverability of a road train differs from the maneuverability of a car without a trailer, so make U-turns, reverse, and stop on road sections that are free of traffic.

Take your time, first get used to the increased weight and length of the road train.

When towing a trailer, it is prohibited to exceed the speed of 100 km/h. If the Road Traffic Regulations establish stricter restrictions, they must be followed.
