Loosen the nut and disconnect the gearbox control cable (Fig. 3.82).

Set the start inhibit switch shaft to position N, as shown in Figure 3.83.

Disconnect the start inhibit switch connector (Fig. 3.84).

Loosen the start inhibit switch mounting bolts (Fig. 3.85).

Connect an ohmmeter to terminals B and C of the start inhibit switch connector (Fig. 3.86).
By turning the start inhibit switch, determine the position at which conductivity occurs between the connector terminals.
Nominal reading of the ohmmeter: 750 Ohm.
Tighten the starter inhibit switch mounting bolts.
Tightening torque: 8–11 Nm.
Make sure that the selector position matches the position of the start inhibit switch.
Connect the start inhibit switch connector.

Install the transmission control cable retainer as shown in Figure 3.87.
Tighten the transmission control cable mounting nut and adjust its position.
Install the locking device and the transmission control cable.
Connect the negative battery terminal.
