Raise and support the vehicle.

Loosen the bolts and remove the exhaust system heat shield under the gear shift lever from the bottom of the body.

Loosen the clamp bolt and pull the shift rod off the transmission shift shaft.

Using a suitable rod, move the shift shaft on the gearbox back and forth to set it to the center position.
In the middle position of the gearshift shaft, turn it to the right and left until it stops, in order to achieve the middle position here too. In this position, push the gearshift shaft completely into the gearbox (arrow in the picture).
Place the gear shift rod onto the gear shift shaft of the gearbox.

Place the gearshift lever in the fourth gear position. In this position, insert a 9 mm diameter rod or drill bit through the hole in the gearshift housing and in the gearshift lever.

The drill holds the gear shift lever in this position.

Tighten the clamp bolt nut to 25 Nm, making sure that the gearshift shaft does not turn.
Pull the locking rod out of the gearshift housing.
Check the ease of engaging all gears and, if necessary, repeat the adjustment.
Install the exhaust system heat shield.
Lower the car.
