The gearbox can be removed without removing the engine. Removal is necessary when clutch components are replaced or when the gearbox needs to be replaced or repaired. Since gearbox repairs at home are never allowed, only removal of the unit is described here. To remove, the car must be lifted and supported high enough. In addition, a lift or winch is required to suspend the power unit.
Ford Fiesta/Mazda 121 can also be equipped with an automatic transmission.
