Removal
Place the front of the car on stands and remove the wheels.
Slide the cabin seal boot onto the steering shaft.
Loosen the bolt securing the lower steering shaft universal joint to the pinion shaft.
Loosen the nuts securing the ball pins of the steering rod joints to the steering knuckles, remove the cotter pins, unscrew the nuts and, using a universal ball pin puller, press the ball pins of the rods out of the steering knuckles.

Loosen and then remove the bolts securing the steering gear housing to the front shield.
Disconnect the lower steering shaft universal joint from the pinion shaft and remove the steering gear assembly with rods, pulling it towards the left wheel.
Installation
Install the steering in the reverse order of removal. Before installing the steering gear, set the steering wheel spoke horizontally and set the rack to the midpoint position, in this position connect the steering shaft to the drive pinion shaft.
