The exhaust system consists of a silencer intake pipe, an intermediate pipe with front and middle silencers, and a rear silencer. On gasoline engines with exhaust gas cleaning, a catalytic converter is installed in place of the front muffler (catalyst). The lambda probe required for controlling the catalytic converter is screwed into the exhaust manifold upstream of the catalytic converter. All parts of the exhaust system are screwed together and can be replaced individually. Self-locking nuts and all gaskets must be replaced after removal.
When installing a new exhaust system, it is recommended that all rubber mountings be replaced as well.
