Description of the exhaust system (Mazda Familia BG)

The exhaust system consists of a muffler intake pipe, an intermediate pipe with front and middle mufflers and a rear muffler. On gasoline engines with exhaust gas cleaning, a catalytic converter is installed in place of the front muffler (catalyst). The lambda probe required to control the catalytic converter is screwed into the exhaust manifold before the catalytic converter. All components of the exhaust system are screwed together and can be replaced individually. Self-locking nuts and all gaskets must be replaced after removal.

When installing a new exhaust system, it is recommended to also replace all rubber mounts.
