Install the oil pump chain.
Pic. 2.189. Fixing the oil pump chain with a special tool
Fix the oil pump sprocket with the special tool (pic. 2.189).
Install the oil pump chain guide.
Install the oil pump drive chain tensioner.
Pic. 2.190. Installing the special tool on the camshaft
Install the special tool on the camshaft, then set the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position (pic. 2.190).
Remove the lower plug of the block of cylinders.
Pic. 2.191. Installing a special tool
Establish the special adaptation, as it is shown in drawing 2.191.
Turn the crankshaft clockwise to TDC on cylinder #1.
Install the timing chain.
Pic. 2.192. Installing the chain tensioner
Install the chain tensioner and remove the retaining wire (pic. 2.192).
Pic. 2.193. Camshaft lock
Hold a cam-shaft, using a suitable wrench on a hexagon, as is shown in drawing 2.193.
Tighten the camshaft sprocket mounting bolt.
Tightening torque: 69–75 Nm.
Apply clean engine oil to the front crankshaft oil seal.
Press the seal lightly by hand.
Press in the oil seal using a special tool and a hammer.
Pic. 2.194. Places for applying sealant to the front cover of the engine
Apply silicone sealant to the front cover of the engine, as shown in Figure 2.194.
Note. Install the cylinder head cover 10 minutes after applying the sealant.
Note. Silicone sealant is not required in area C shown in the figure, as it is already present there (L3 with variable valve timing).
Thickness:
- A: 2.0-3.0mm;
- B: 1.5-2.5 mm.
Pic. 2.195. The order of tightening the cylinder head cover bolts
Establish bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders in the order specified in drawing 2.195.
Again establish the special adaptation on a cam-shaft, as it is shown in drawing 2.191.
Pic. 2.196. Installing the retaining bolt on the crankshaft pulley
Screw in the M6x1.0 bolt by hand (pic. 2.196).
Turn the crankshaft clockwise to TDC on cylinder #1.
Pic. 2.197. Crankshaft pulley lock
Hold the crankshaft pulley from turning with a special tool (pic. 2.197).
Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt in two steps.
- Tighten to 96–104 Nm.
- Tighten 87-93°.
Loosen the M6x1.0 bolt.
Remove the special tool from the camshaft.
Remove the special tool from the hole in the bottom plug of the cylinder block.
Turn the crankshaft clockwise two turns to TDC.
If the TDC position cannot be reached, loosen the crankshaft pulley mounting bolt and repeat the steps.
Establish the bottom plug of the block of cylinders.
Tightening torque: 20 Nm.
Pic. 2.198. Sealing locations
Apply organosilicon sealant to mating surfaces as shown in Figure 2.198.
Note. Install the cylinder head cover 10 minutes after applying the sealant.
Note. Dot diameter: 4.0-6.0 mm.
Install the cylinder head cover with a new gasket.
Pic. 2.199. The order of tightening the cylinder head cover bolts
Tighten the mounting bolts in the order shown in Figure 2.199.
Tightening torque: 8.0 - 12.0 Nm.
