Removal
Remove the battery cover.
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Remove the bottom cover together with the splash guard.
Drain the coolant from the engine.
Secure the expansion tank of the cooling system so that it does not interfere with operation.
Remove the power steering fluid reservoir with hoses.
Remove the power steering pump with hoses and tubes.
Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
Position the oil control valve wiring harness so that it does not interfere with operation.
Position the accelerator cable bracket so that it does not interfere with operation.
Remove the following:
- front wheel (right);
- drive belt;
- air filter housing, PCM assembly, and intake air duct;
- ignition coil;
- generator;
- coolant pump;
- timing mechanism drive chain.

Remove the oil pump and gasket (fig. 2.295).
Installation

Install the oil pump gasket onto the oil pump (fig. 2.296).
Install the oil pump with gasket on the engine.
Add fluid to the engine cooling system.
Start the engine and check for oil leaks.
If there is an oil leak, identify the faulty component and repair or replace it.
Check the oil pressure.
Check the oil level.
Check the ignition timing and engine idle speed.
