Figure 240. Details of removal and installation of a vacuum pump on a diesel engine. 1. Vacuum hose; 2. Drain hose; 3. Inlet hose; 4. Drive belt cover; 5. Vacuum pump; 6. Union nut, 12-18 Nm; 7. Bolt, 80-110 Nm; 8. Bolt, 80-110 Nm; 9. Bolt, 38-53 Nm; 10. Bolt, 19-25 Nm
- Open the clamp and disconnect the vacuum (1) and drain hoses (2) from the pump.
- Unscrew the union nut (3) of the pipeline and remove the hose. At the same time, oil is poured out and collected in a suitable container.
- Unscrew the cover (4) to drive the pump.
- Unscrew and remove the pump. The pump is installed in reverse order. Tighten the pump bolts to the torque shown in the figure, but ensure that the different dimensions are maintained. Set the drive belt tension. taking advantage of figure 211. If servo control is not installed, the belt tension is measured in the same place. A new belt should be pressed in by 7.5–8.5 mm, a used belt by 8.5–9.5 mm.
