Attention.
- Improper use of front seat belts (seat belt pretensioners) may result in serious injury.
- The side airbag sensors are installed in the lower part of the B-pillars of the body. When working in the area of the B-pillar of the body, it is necessary to disconnect the negative terminal of the storage battery and avoid hitting the lower part of the B-pillar of the body.
- The seat belt retractor mechanism cannot be disassembled, since reassembly will create excessive play between the internal components of the mechanism, which will adversely affect its operation.
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait at least one minute.
3. Remove the front door sill trim.
4. Remove the rear door sill trim.
5. Remove the lower trim of the B-pillar of the body.
6. Using a flat-head screwdriver, carefully pry up the retaining device, but do not remove it.
7. Disconnect the seat belt pretensioner connector.
8. Remove the cover.
9. Loosen bolt A.
10. Loosen bolt B.
11. Remove the front seat belt.
12. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
13. Turn on the ignition (engine on or off).
14. Check that the air bag indicator flashes for 6 seconds and goes out. If the air bag indicator does not come on, perform an on-board self-diagnosis check of the system using the M-MDS.
