Safety precautions: Read the safety precautions when working with the airbag (see chapter "Steering").


Removal



Disconnect the negative cable from the battery with the ignition on.

Note: This will erase the data from the electronic memory blocks. See instructions in Chapter. "Electrical equipment".


Insulate the negative battery terminal to avoid accidental contact.

Precautions: After disconnecting the battery, wait at least two minutes to allow the backup capacitor to discharge and prevent the airbag and seat belt pretensioner from accidentally deploying.


Pull off the side cover,

Disconnect the plug.


Disconnect the plug.

Move the seat all the way back and remove both front bolts.


Move the seat all the way back and remove both front bolts.



Move the seat fully forward and remove the three rear bolts.


Move the seat fully forward and remove the three rear bolts.

Remove the front seat.

Installation



Install the seat and first tighten the rear and then the front mounting bolts to a torque of 25 Nm.

Connect the plug.

Put on the side cover.

Connect the negative cable to the battery.

Set the clock and, if necessary, enter security codes.
