Spare wheel (option)
Your vehicle may be equipped with a small spare tire for temporary use only. The small size spare tire is lighter and smaller than the standard tires that come with the vehicle. The small wheel is only intended for short-term use in the event of damage to the vehicle wheel. Do not use the small spare tire for long distance driving.
Attention.
- It is forbidden to install a small-sized spare wheel on the front drive axle of the car. Driving with a small spare tire in front is dangerous. This will significantly impair the handling of the car. You can lose control of your vehicle, especially on icy or snowy roads, and get into an accident. If one of the front wheels is damaged, move the good rear wheel forward and replace it with a small spare wheel.
- When using a small size spare tire, the driving stability of the vehicle may deteriorate compared to the situation when all four wheels of normal size are installed on the car. Therefore, when driving a car, be especially careful.
- To prevent damage to the small spare tire or vehicle, observe the following precautions.
- Do not exceed the driving speed of 80 km/h.
- Avoid driving over obstacles on the road. Also, do not drive into a mechanized car wash. Since the diameter of the small wheel is smaller than the diameter of the standard wheels installed on the vehicle, the vehicle's ground clearance is reduced by about 10 mm. Snow chains must not be fitted to the small spare wheel as they do not fit this wheel.
- The small spare wheel must not be fitted to vehicles of other makes and models. The small spare tire is designed for your vehicle model only.
- No more than one small spare wheel may be fitted to the vehicle at a time.
Removing the spare wheel from the vehicle
1. Open the luggage compartment floor panel.
2. Secure the floor panel in the open position by attaching the hook to the seat headrest.
3. Remove the spare wheel mounting bolt by turning it counterclockwise.
Stowing the spare wheel in the stowed position
Stow the spare wheel in the stowed position in reverse order. With the spare wheel stowed and secured in the stowed position, check that the wheel is secure.
