The function, design and operation of the Mazda 3 (GG) intake system with L3, LF and L8 engines are the same as those on the current 323 (BJ) FS engine, except for the following:
  • to improve maintainability, the AAS throttle body is not used.
  • the intake manifold is made of plastic to reduce weight.
  • variable Air Duct (VAD) system is used to improve engine performance.
