Note: Balance the wheels first from the outside and then from the inside. Be careful not to scratch the wheels.
Adhesive balancing weight (external)
Remove the old wheel balance weight.
Remove any double-sided tape remaining on the wheel, then clean and degrease the contact area.
Mount the wheel on the wheel balancing machine, measure the magnitude and position of the imbalance in the mode for normal balancing weights.
Fig. 4.12. Scheme of installation of balancing weight
Multiply the imbalance value by 1.6 to obtain the value of the balancing weight mass (Fig. 4.12).
Select the balancing weight that is closest in weight, set the balancing weight to the position (outside) indicated by the wheel balancing machine.
An example of calculating the mass of a load for a given imbalance value: 23ґЅ1.6 = 36.8 g.
Required load weight: 35 g.
Note: Use a load with a mass close to the calculated value.
Example: 32.4 g = 30 g, 32.5 g = 35 g.
Attention! Use the original counterweight or equivalent (steel).
Caution! When installing the balancing weight, press it for 2 seconds with a force of 25 N for every 5 g.
Fig. 4.13. Installation diagram of two balancing weights
When installing two weights, place them so that they are located on both sides of the rim in the position indicated by the wheel balancing machine (Fig. 4.13).
Attention!
- - Do not place loads in a row.
- - Do not stack loads on top of each other.
- - The total weight must not exceed 160 g.
Installation of a conventional type of load (internal)
Measure the amount of imbalance on a wheel balancing machine.
Fig. 4.14. Installation diagram of a conventional balancing weight
Place a weight corresponding to the measured imbalance value in position (on the inside of the rim), indicated by the wheel balancing machine (Fig. 4.14).
Attention!
- - Do not install more than three weights.
- - The weight of one load must not exceed 60 g.
- - The total weight of two loads must not exceed 100 g.
Checking the amount of residual imbalance
After installing the outer and inner weights, turn on the wheel balancing machine again.
Make sure that the residual imbalance on both sides does not exceed the values given below.
If the residual imbalance exceeds 10 g (16 inch wheel) or 9 g (17 inch wheel), balance the wheels again.
