Wheels installed as standard are balanced at the factory. Balancing is necessary to compensate for uneven weight distribution and material heterogeneity. During operation, wheel imbalance manifests itself as steering wheel shaking at high speed.
Typically, this vibration only appears at a certain speed and disappears at lower or higher speeds. Over time, imbalance can lead to damage to the ball joints, steering gear, and shock absorbers.
It is essential to balance the wheels every 20,000 km and after repairs, as wear and repairs change the distribution of weight and material.
