Removal and installation ignition coils with ion sensors
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the decorative engine cover.
3. Disconnect the connector, then unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the ignition coil with the ion sensor.
Checking the ignition coil
1. Using a diagnostic tool, check spark formation and determine the faulty engine cylinder.
2. Replace the ion sensor ignition coil of the faulty cylinder with the coil of the normal cylinder and perform the test again.
3. If the lack of spark is due to the ignition coil/ion sensor, replace the ignition coil with a new one.
