Note:
- If the starter has exhausted its life after a certain number of engine starts, or if various components of the i-stop system malfunction, the orange i-stop indicator will flash. In addition, the corresponding fault codes are stored in the memory of the control unit.
- To ensure that the i-stop system works, it is necessary to replace the starter with a new one after the number of engine starts reaches the set limit.
- When replacing the starter, the engine control unit configuration list must be executed at the same time.
1. Turn on the ignition (engine off).
Note: Steps 1...5 must be completed within two minutes. If the time to complete the described steps exceeds two minutes, you need to turn off the ignition and repeat the procedures from the beginning.
2. Firmly apply the parking brake.
3. Move the gear lever to neutral position (N).
4. Press the brake pedal and do the following:
- Press and release the accelerator pedal 6 times.
- Verify that the green i-stop indicator is flashing. If the indicator does not flash, turn off the ignition and repeat the entire procedure from the beginning.
- Press and release the accelerator pedal 6 times.
- Verify that the green i-stop indicator has become permanently lit. If the indicator does not light constantly, turn off the ignition and repeat the entire procedure from the beginning.
5. Long press the i-stop off switch. Wait until the green i-stop indicator turns off (5 seconds or longer). If the indicator does not go out, turn off the ignition and repeat the procedure from the beginning.
6. Turn off the ignition.
7. Start the engine.
8. Verify that the orange i-stop indicator is off. If the indicator does not go out, turn off the ignition and repeat the procedure from the beginning.
9. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
10. Perform battery initialization settings (i-stop settings).
