Wiring diagram

If the traction relay is faulty, the gear in the starter does not enter the flywheel ring gear. Because of this, the starter cannot turn the crankshaft. This defect is more common than damage to the starter motor itself.
Examination
1. Remove the starter.

2. Disconnect the excitation winding cable from terminal C.
3. Connect the traction relay with auxiliary cables to the battery. The starter pinion should move outward.
Attention! The cables can be connected for a maximum of 10 seconds, otherwise the traction relay winding will burn out.
4. Disconnect the ground cable from terminal C. The starter gear must remain depressed, otherwise replace the relay.
5. Disconnect the ground cable on the starter housing, the gear should retract, otherwise replace it.
Removal

(Information copied from the portal: MAZBOOK.RU)
1. Unscrew the 2 mounting bolts and the relay cable terminal from the drive housing and disconnect the traction relay. Remove the washers.
Installation
1. Install the traction relay with washers, attach it to the starter lever and screw it on with a little force (5 Nm).
2. Check the traction relay as described above.
3. Install the starter.
