1. Connect a voltmeter between the positive and negative terminals of the battery.
2. Start the engine. When starting, the voltage should not fall below 8 V (at an outside temperature of +20°C).
3. Increase the engine speed to 2000 rpm. The voltage should be 14.1-14.7 V. This indicates that the generator and regulator are working. The generator voltage should be higher than the battery voltage so that the battery is recharged while driving.
4. Check the stability of the adjustment. To do this, turn on the high beam and repeat the measurement at 2000 rpm. The measured voltage should not be more than 0.4 V higher than the previously measured value.
5. If the measured values are outside the permissible limits, have the generator checked in a workshop.
