Removal and installation the knock sensor
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the decorative engine cover.
3. Remove the intake manifold.
4. Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
5. Remove the knock sensor.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Note:
- Make sure there are no foreign particles between the knock sensor and the cylinder block.
- The knock sensor connector must be located within the 90 degree range shown in the illustration.
Checking the knock sensor
Resistance check
1. Remove the knock sensor.
2. Measure the resistance between terminals A and B of the knock sensor connector.
3. If the measured value is not within the normal range (504-616 kOhm at 10-30°C), replace the knock sensor with a new one.
