Note: The valve springs for the intake and exhaust valves are different. Therefore, before measuring the length of the springs in a free state, it is necessary to determine the valve spring by the presence or absence of a color mark.

1. Using a special device, measure the height of the valve spring. If the measured value is not within the norm, replace the valve spring with a new one.

Note: Valve spring installation height when applying a force of 228-252 N: 38.0 mm.
2. Using a square, measure the deviation from perpendicularity of the valve spring:
Rotate the valve spring one full revolution and measure the distance A at the point of maximum clearance. If the measured value exceeds the maximum permissible value, replace the valve spring with a new one.

Note:
Maximum permissible deviation of the valve spring from perpendicularity:
- Inlet: 2.0° (1.7mm).
- Release: 2.0° (1.7 mm).
