2. Check the deformation of the contact surface on the combustion chamber side in six directions as shown in the figure using a measuring ruler and a set of flat feeler gauges. If the deformation exceeds 0.05 mm, replace the cylinder head with a new one. Do not attempt to repair the cylinder head by milling or grinding.

3. Check the contact surfaces of the exhaust and intake manifolds for deformation using a straightedge and a set of flat feeler gauges, as shown in the figure.

If the deformation on the intake manifold side exceeds the maximum permissible value, replace the cylinder head with a new one.
If the deformation on the exhaust manifold side exceeds the maximum permissible value, mill the surface or replace the cylinder head.
Note:
Maximum permissible deformation of the contact surface:
- Intake manifold: 0.10 mm.
- Exhaust manifold: 0.05 mm.
Permissible value of deformation of the contact surface for processing (exhaust manifold): 0.20 mm.
