Disassembling the engine (Mazda Familia BF)

Disconnect the gearbox from the engine.

Remove the intake and exhaust manifolds, pipes, generator, gearbox booster, and ignition distributor from the engine.

Place the washed and cleaned engine on a stand for disassembly.

Remove the timing belt and camshaft sprocket.

Remove the cylinder head.

Remove the clutch housing and the driven clutch disc, then remove the flywheel, locking it with the Mazda 49E 301 060 lock.

Remove the water pump.

Turn the engine over with the crankcase facing up and remove the oil pan with the gasket.

Remove the oil pump receiver.

Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal retainer.

Remove the front cylinder block cover.

Check for marks on the pistons and connecting rods.

Loosen the connecting rod bolt nuts, remove the connecting rod caps and place them in order together with the bearing shells.

Carefully remove the pistons with connecting rods through the cylinders and place them in order together with the liners.

Remove the main bearing caps together with the lower bearing shells, marking the caps or making sure that they have marks on them, and place the caps in order together with the lower bearing shells.

Remove the crankshaft from the bearing seats, then the upper bearing shells and thrust half rings from the 4th support.

Remove the oil filter and oil pressure sensor.

On the B6 EGI engine, remove the piston oil sprayers.
