Removal the power unit (Mazda Familia BF)

Place the car on the lift and apply the parking brake.

Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

Remove the engine hood.

Remove the battery and its mounting bracket.

Raise the car on a lift.

Remove the engine shield.

Drain the oil from the engine crankcase, drain the coolant and oil from the gearbox.

Loosen the nuts securing the ball joints of the front suspension arms to the steering knuckles.

Remove the ends of the inner joints of the front wheel drive shafts from the gearbox half-axle gears and hang the shafts from the body.

Disconnect the shift and gear selection rods from the gearbox.

Disconnect the exhaust manifold's inlet pipe.

Remove the air filter.

Disconnect the air hoses from the carburetor.

Disconnect the carburetor throttle cable from the engine.

Disconnect the clutch drive cable and the speedometer drive flexible shaft from the gearbox.

Remove the ignition coil from the side member.

Disconnect the wires from the electrical components and units installed on the engine.

On vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect the shift control cable from the transmission.

Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses from the radiator and remove the radiator.

Disconnect the fuel supply and drain hoses from the fuel pump.

Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster.

Loosen the nuts securing the front and rear suspension supports to the powertrain suspension crossmember unit.
