Removal and installation



Attention:
  • Fuel vapors are very dangerous. They are highly flammable and can cause serious injury and damage. There should be no sparking objects or open flames in the fuel area.
  • Fuel spills or leaks from pipes are very dangerous. Fuel can irritate the skin and eyes. Always take safety precautions when working on the fuel system (see chapter "Fuel injection system").


1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the air intake duct.

3. Remove the battery.

4. Remove the radiator (see chapter "Cooling system").

5. Remove the exhaust pipe (see chapter "Air intake and exhaust system").

6. Remove the manual transmission (see chapter "Manual transmission").

7. Remove the power steering fluid pump and, without disconnecting the hoses, hang it to the side.

8. Remove the air conditioning compressor and, without disconnecting the hoses, hang it to the side.

9. Remove the parts in the order they are numbered in the figure "Engine Removal and Installation".

10. Installation of parts during assembly is carried out in the reverse order of removal.



11. Check the fit of the belts on the pulleys and adjust the tension of the drive belts of the attachments (see chapter "Maintenance and general check and adjustment procedures").

12. Remove air from the fuel system (see chapter "Fuel injection system").

13. Check for leaks of engine oil, coolant, transmission oil and fuel

14. Check the idle speed (see chapter "Maintenance and general checking and adjustment procedures").

15. Perform a road test and check for vibrations and extraneous noise.

If necessary, adjust the installation of the power unit on the supports or make repairs.

Note on removing and installing the power unit



1. Install engine lifting brackets onto the cylinder head using M10X1.25mm, 8T, 20mm long bolts.
  • Tightening torque - 43-61 Nm

1. Remove the air intake system components (see chapter "Air intake and exhaust system").

2. Remove the exhaust system components (see chapter "Air intake and exhaust system").

3. Remove the oil cooler (see chapter "Lubrication system").

4. Remove the parts in the order they are numbered in the figure "Engine assembly and disassembly".

5. Installation of parts during assembly is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
