Caution: Perform work on the air intake and exhaust systems when the engine has cooled down. After the engine has warmed up, the system components become hot and may cause burns.

Checking the exhaust system

1. Check the rubber gaskets of the pipe brackets for wear or displacement from the desired position.

1. Check the rubber gaskets of the pipe brackets for wear or displacement from the desired position.

2. Check the exhaust system for exhaust leaks, deformations, breakages, loose joints or blockages.

3. Check for loose bolts and nuts, tighten all bolts and nuts to specified torques.

4. Check all compatible parts of the exhaust system for damage, deformation, displacement and other damage that could cause exhaust gases to leak and enter the passenger compartment.

5. Make sure that there is sufficient clearance between the exhaust system components, other system components and the body to avoid overheating or damage to components not designed for use at high temperatures.

6. Check for other defects and malfunctions.

Removal and installation

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the engine trim panel.

3. Remove the air filter housing.

4. Remove the EGR cooler.

5. Remove the parts in the sequence shown in the figure "Removing and installing the exhaust system".

6. Installation of parts during assembly is carried out in the reverse order of assembly.

7. Start the engine and check for exhaust leaks. Check the area around the turbocharger for engine oil and coolant leaks.

Note on removing the coolant supply pipes to the turbocharger

Before removing the pipes, drain the coolant (see chapter "Maintenance and general check and adjustment procedures").

Note on installing the engine oil supply hose

1. Secure nut "A" with a wrench.

2. Tighten nut "B".
  • Tightening torque - 15 - 21 Nm

[Based on website data: MAZBOOK.ru]

3. Fix the hose at point "C" using pliers.

4. Tighten nut "D".
  • Tightening torque - 15 - 21 Nm

Tightening torque - 15 - 21 Nm

Note on installing the intermediate pipe of the exhaust system

1. Lightly tighten nuts "A".

2. Lightly tighten bolts "B" and "C".

3. Tighten nuts "A" completely.
  • Tightening torque - 37 - 52 Nm

4. Finally tighten bolts "B" and "C".

Tightening torque:
  • bolt "B" - 37 - 52 Nm
  • bolt "C" - 17 - 15 Nm

bolt «C» - 17 - 15 Nm
