Release the crackers from the valves by compressing the valve springs with a special tool.
Remove the plate springs.
Remove the valve stem seals and spring washers with pliers.
Take out the valves.
Note: Reinstall parts that are not replaced by new ones in their original places during assembly.
Clean the removed parts.
Check the inner diameter of the guide bushings and the gap between the guide bushings and valve stems (see dimensions in subsection «Detailed Specifications»).
Check with a straightedge for distortion of the cylinder head connector plane, which should not exceed 0.15 mm.
Grind, if necessary, the plane of the cylinder head split.
Remove carbon deposits from valves. Check for deformed valve stems and cracked poppets. Replace damaged valves. Check the condition of the working chamfer of the valves. In case of minor damage, it can be sanded, maintaining the required chamfer angle (see subsection «Detailed Specifications»).
Check valve spring settlement.
Check valve seat bevels for pitting, corrosion, and damage. Minor damage can be repaired by grinding while removing as little metal as possible. You can grind both manually and with a grinder. It is best to perform this operation in a repair shop.
