Faulty hub bearings are identified by the following signs: Noise on sharp turns; heavy wheel travel when the brakes are released. The bearings sit so tightly in the steering knuckle that they can only be removed and installed using a special press. Therefore, the replacement of the hub bearings must be performed in a MAZDA workshop. To replace the hub bearings, the steering knuckle must be removed.
