All-wheel drive and DOHC models
Vehicles with a 1.9L DOHC engine and/or all-wheel drive have an intermediate shaft between the transmission and the right drive shaft, making both drive shafts the same length.
1 - retaining ring; 2 - intermediate shaft; 3 - oil seal; 4 - oil seal; 5 - bearing; 6 - intermediate support
Removal
1. Remove the right drive shaft.
2. Unscrew the intermediate support on the cylinder block and remove the intermediate shaft from the gearbox, making sure that the oil seal is not damaged.
3. If damaged, press out and replace the bearing and seals (is done in the workshop).
Installation

1. Insert the intermediate shaft and tighten the bolts in a certain sequence with force 50 Nm.
2. Install the right drive shaft.
