Before installing the intermediate shaft, place new retaining rings on the drive shaft and in the grooves of the intermediate shaft, lubricate the splines with transmission oil (figure 9.34).
Insert the intermediate shaft into the gearbox, screw in the support mounting bolts and tighten them to the required torque.
