Since the vehicle must be on its wheels to tighten the rubber mounts, either a lift with a platform or an inspection pit is required.
Removal
1 - stabilizer nut; 2 - sleeve, bushing, spacer element; 3 - stabilizer bolt; 4 - bolt, washer; 5 - bolt to bolt, nut; 7 - nut; 8 - washer; 9 - rear bushing of the transverse arm; 10 - nut; 11 - bolt; 12 - ball joint; 13 - anther; 14 - Front bushing of the transverse arm; 15 - transverse lever
1. Mark the position of the wheel disc in relation to the hub so that the balanced wheel can be installed in its original position.
2. Loosen the nuts of the front wheels of the vehicle while it is parked on the ground.
3. Raise the car.
4. Remove the front wheels.
5. Loosen the stabilizer support on the transverse arm, for which unscrew the nut "1" and remove the bolt "3" with the intermediate elements "2". On cars up to 9/89 and all station wagon models, the bolt, opposite to the picture, is installed from top to bottom.
6. Unscrew bolt "4" on the front support of the transverse arm.
7. Unscrew the clamp on the rear support of the lever (bolt "5").
8. Loosen nut "6", remove bolt "6" on the steering knuckle. Pull the ball joint pin down from the steering knuckle and remove the lever.
Attention! If the ball joint pin cannot be removed by hand, insert a crowbar between the joint and the steering knuckle. Do not damage the joint sleeve, put a rag underneath.
Installation
1. Check the wear of the lever and steering knuckle bearings, replace if necessary, see Chapter Checking/replacing the wishbone/steering knuckle support.
2. Insert the wishbone onto the body and steering knuckle, tighten the bolts and nuts by hand, but do not tighten them yet.
3. Screw on the stabilizer without tightening the mounting bolts completely.
4. Screw on the wheel, taking into account the marks made during removal. Lower the car and tighten the wheel nuts crosswise with force 100 Nm.
5. Rock the car several times to settle the wheel suspension.

6. Models up to 9/89 issue and "station wagon" models: Screw on the stabilizer nut until the protruding thread length is equal to 10.8 mm.

7. Models from 10/89, except for "station wagon": Screw on the stabilizer nut until the protruding thread length is within 17-19 mm.
8. Tighten the rear and front wishbone supports with force 110 Nm, bolt on the steering knuckle with force 60 Nm.

9. Have the wheel alignment measured in a workshop as soon as possible.
