On vehicles with an injection engine, the fuel pump together with the fuel level sensor is located on a holder in the fuel tank.
Warning! When removing the fuel tank, some fuel may leak out. Fuel vapors are toxic, so ensure good ventilation. Avoid contact with skin. Wear fuel-resistant gloves. Do not work near open flames! Keep a fire extinguisher handy!
Removal
1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
Warning! This will erase the engine fault memory or the radio security code. Before disconnecting the battery, read the instructions in Section Removal and installation the battery.
2. Remove the fuel level sensor, see Chapter Power supply system, carburetor, fuel injection system, Chapter Removal and installation/checking the sensor in the fuel tank.
3. Remove the fastening tape from the holder and the fuel pump.
4. Unscrew the mount from the holder.
5. Remove the rubber damper.
6. Disconnect the fuel pump plug.
7. Remove the fuel pumps from the fuel lines.
8. Remove the pump from the bottom mount.
9. Remove the fuel filter.
Installation
1. Install the fuel filter on the new fuel pump.
2. Install the rubber damper onto the new fuel pump.

1. Cover new coat the O-ring seal with a thin layer of oil and place it on the fuel pump.
2. Insert the fuel pump into the fuel lines.
3. Connect the fuel pump plugs.
4. Install and screw the mount.

5. Press the fuel pump with the rubber support firmly into the mount.
6. Secure the pump to the holder with fastening tape.
7. Install the fuel level sensor, see Chapter Power supply system, carburetor, fuel injection system, Chapter Removal and installation/checking the sensor in the fuel tank.
8. Connect the ground cable to the battery.
9. If available, set the time on the clock and set the security code for the radio receiver.
