Carburetor engine



Removal



Removal


1. Loosen the fastening brackets and unscrew the wing nut. Remove the air filter cover.

2. Remove the filter element.

3. Disconnect the preheating hose from the air filter housing.

4. Disconnect the vacuum hoses and the crankcase ventilation hose. Mark the hoses with adhesive tape to make installation easier.

5. Unscrew the bolts securing the lower part of the air filter. Remove the lower part of the filter.

6. Cover the carburetor with a clean cloth.

Caution: Do not allow parts to fall into the carburetor, as this may cause serious damage to the engine.


Installation



1. Remove the cloth.

2. Check the preheating hose for damage and replace if necessary.

3. Place the preheating hose onto the air filter housing. Make sure that the nipple fits correctly into the preheating hose and is not pinched or damaged.

4. Connect the vacuum hoses and crankcase ventilation hose to the air filter according to the markings.

5. Install and screw the lower part of the air filter.

6. Insert the filter element.



7. Install the air filter cover, screw on the wing nut and secure with the mounting brackets.

Injector engine



Removal



1. Disconnect the plug from the air mass meter.

1. Disconnect the plug from the air mass meter.


2. If equipped, disconnect the high tension cable "1" and the connections at the ignition coil. Mark the cables with masking tape to make installation easier.

3. Loosen the hose clamps and disconnect the intake air hose "2".

4. Unscrew the mounting bolts "3" of the upper part of the air filter.

4. Unscrew the mounting bolts «3» of the upper part of the air filter.


5. Unscrew the mounting bolts "4" and remove the lower part of the air filter.

Installation



1. Install the lower part of the air filter and tighten the bolts.

2. Insert the filter element.

3. Install the upper part of the air filter and tighten the mounting bolts.



4. Place the intake air hose on the top of the air filter and secure with a clamp.

5. Connect the high voltage cable and ignition coil connections according to the marking.

6. Connect the throttle potentiometer plug.

Diesel engine



Removal



1. Loosen the hose clamps and disconnect the intake air hose.

1. Loosen the hose clamps and disconnect the intake air hose.


2. Loosen the mounting bolts "5" and remove the upper part of the air filter "1".

3. Remove filter element "2".

4. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose "6", having first loosened the clamp.

5. Unscrew the mounting bolts "4" and remove the lower part of the air filter "3".

Installation



1. Install the lower part of the air filter and tighten the mounting bolts with force 25 Nm.

2. Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the air filter housing and secure with a clamp.

3. Insert the filter element.

4. Install the upper part of the air filter and screw it on with the mounting bolts.

5. Connect the intake air hose and secure with a clamp.
