To reduce noise, offset bore pistons are used. Pistons and connecting rods can only be separated by shrink fitting. To prevent incorrect assembly, the piston is marked (). The piston is installed so that the arrow on the marking faces the front of the engine (Fig. 2.16).
Note: The piston of L3 engines has a groove for the valves.
