Note:
- Standard bottom end end clearance: 0.14-0.36mm.
- Maximum permissible side clearance of the lower head of the connecting rod: 0.465 mm.
2. Measure the oil clearance in the connecting rod bearing:
- Place a piece of a dipstick equal to the width of the connecting rod journal parallel to the crankshaft, making sure the oil hole is not blocked.
- Install the lower connecting rod bearing and connecting rod cap.
- Tighten connecting rod bolts.
- Remove the connecting rod cover.
- Measure the connecting rod bearing oil clearance at the most flattened part of the dipstick. If the measured value exceeds the limit, replace the connecting rod bearings or bore the connecting rod journal and use oversized connecting rod bearings to obtain the required clearance.
Note:
- Standard oil clearance in connecting rod bearing: 0.026-0.052 mm.
- Maximum allowable oil clearance in the connecting rod bearing: 0.10 mm.
Connecting rod bearing dimensions:
- Standard size: 1.502-1.519 mm.
- Repair size +0.25: 1.628-1.631 mm.
- Repair size +0.50: 1.753-1.765 mm.
